There is a possibility that the iPhone 15 will not be the sole Apple gadget to receive the USB-C upgrade in the upcoming month.
According to a claim by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is going to debut a set of “updated” AirPods featuring USB-C at its new iPhone 15 announcement in September. The article states that Apple is preparing to do this.
There have been speculations going around for months regarding the prospect of Apple releasing AirPods with a case for charging that is compliant with USB-C, but up until today, we haven’t seen anything that is this certain regarding the matter. However, we are still unsure as to whether or not the AirPods Pro is going to receive the charging USB-C case, as Gurman fails to offer this information.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple researcher, projected in 2022 that Apple will offer AirPods with a case for charging that is compatible with USB-C sometime during this year. Apart from the redesigned case, it is also unclear whether Apple is planning any significant improvements to the AirPods itself in the near future.
Kuo stated previously this year that Apple could begin shipping its 4th-generation AirPods in the latter part of 2024 or the very first half of 2025, along with a speculated pair of AirPods for $99 and the second-generation AirPods Max. Kuo’s prediction was made in reference to Apple’s expected release of these products. Given that schedule, it appears that an update on the matter may be forthcoming.
The Wonderlust occasion, which will focus on the iPhone 15, is scheduled to be held on September 12 of this year. Apple is likely to incorporate a USB-C connector on all of its iPhone 15 versions in order to meet the new restrictions that are being implemented by the European Union. This is in addition to the AirPods, which already support USB-C. There is a possibility that Apple will unveil not only the Watch Series 9 but also a Watch Ultra successor.
